Ramsen, a Chicago native, is a Deputy Opinion Editor at Newsweek. He was the arts and culture reporter for Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism as a graduate student. He wrote articles for Medill’s Chicago and D.C. newsrooms. He enjoys writing about human rights issues, arts and culture, religion and politics. He has a master’s degree in journalism from Medill. Ramsen holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Illinois at Chicago. As an undergrad he studied abroad at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Ramsen has been published by such media outlets as POLITICO, UPI, Military Times, Army Times, Fair Observer and U.S. News & World Report. He previously worked as a Senior Producer at POLITICO. He aims to be a voice for the voiceless.
